Together with wife Birte Scheel has produced some very nice Bassets through the years of which DanishAmerican CH Scheel's First Edition ROM is probably the most well know. In 1985 he was WD & BOW at the Basset Hound Club of America 50 years Anniversary Show and he also had several all breed Best in Shows in Denmark and was also Winner of Winners in 1988 in competition with all the top winners of all breeds from the previous year. He also was a tremendous stud dog with over 50 champions both here in Europe and in the U.S. One of his sons, DKAM CH Scheel's Riveredge Rubber Duck repeated his fathers success by also being WD and BOW at the American Basset Nationals in 1991. Got judges license in 1987 for Basset Hounds and now 17 years later is authorized for All Breeds. Has judged at the American Basset Nationals in Rhode Island in 1994 and the Australian Basset Nationals in Brisbane in 1999. Besides these two countries has judged in all Scandinavian countries, Germany, Holland. Belgium, England, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Estland, Letland - both international Kennel Club shows and specialities.
