The Goodwin family was first introduced into the dog show scene when the family purchased its first Collie Rough in 1969. The whole family was involved. My 2 sisters and myself where all competitive junior handlers and all did exceptional well. My parents then entered into the world of breeding under the Kennel prefix of Matrak. There had been numerous Champions over many years with many show awards.

My first Siberian Husky was in 1984 and the first Siberian into QLD Australia. Breeding under my parents prefix of Matrak had given them the bug to have Siberians which they now only have to this date. My eldest sister in 1989 went into the breed of German Shorthaired Pointers and German Wirehaired Pointers and in 1992 into Brittany's for which she still has to date. The middle sister had her first siberian in 1990 and then went into Alaskan Malamutes in 1993 for which she still has.

I had started my own prefix of Bluemooska Kennels and expanded the breed within the state with multiple winning Siberians obtaining many Show Champions and Grand Champions with multiple Best in Show and Best in Speciality Show winning dogs.

In 1993 the Bluemooska Kennel expanded and added the breeds of Large Munsterlanders and imported Leonbergers. In 2000 an English Setter joined the winning team. The Leonbergers being the first multiple Best in Group / Reserve in Group and classes in show winning dogs in Australia at All Breeds shows with the first Grand Championship in Australia. The Munsterlanders were also Group winning dogs with Grand titles as well. The English Setter won 17 BIS and 2 BISS shows with 27 Runner up in Shows and was the top winning English Setter in QLD for 2003/2004/2005.

2004 there were no longer Leonbergers and Munsterlanders but English Pointers joined the team for which are both Best in Group winning dogs. 2006 arrived the long awaited English Foxhounds to joined the team and they too had many achievements. With the only GRAND Champion in QLD winning multiple Best in Group's.

With many multiple Best in Show , Best in Speciality Show awards under the owner/handler/breeder of many breeds all my dogs have done exceptional well.

In 1995 at the Brisbane Royal with a record number of Lady handlers I took out the Best Lady Handler at the Brisbane Royal handling a Siberian.

I entered the judging system in 1995 and am a specialist Siberian judge and am licenced Championship in Group 1 (Toys) , Groups 3 (Gundogs) , 4 (Hounds) , 5 (Working dogs) , 6 (Utility) , 7 (Non-Sporting) with the balance of Group 2 at Open show status.
