Damir started breeding in 1990 and became a dog judge in 1993. Since then he has been judging at International, National and Special dogs shows in Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Greece, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Belgium, Holland, Finland, Sweden, Mexico, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Spain, Ukraine, Estonia, Russia, White Russia and Poland. He judged at WDS in Mexico (invited to judge at the WDS in Poland). Also judged in Argentina, Australia, Slovakia and Finland. As a breeder, under the kennel name Saltus, he has bred and owned Miniature Pincher, Standard Schnauzers (Salt & Pepper), English Cocker Spaniel, Borzoi, German Hunting Terriers, Great Dane, Posavian Hound, Dachshunds (Standard Wire), Golden Retriever, Istrian Hound, and Epegnel Breton. During the last 10 years he has been a member of many different breed clubs and boards in Croatia and has been correspondent for some Croatian magazines and "Our Dogs" from UK. During that time he has been delegated many times for Croatian KC for general assemblies of FCI and meeting of European FCI section. At FCI European section general assembly 2004 in Barcelona he was elected to general committee of FCI European section. He is also a member of FCI Hound Commission. President of Croatian KC from 2004. He is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, working as a Nutritional Specialist and Corporate Affairs Manager.
