Wayne first became involved in the world of showing dogs in 1977 with an English Cocker Spaniel. In 1979 he moved in to the Hound Group with the first of what was to become many Afghan Hounds. In 1983 the English Springer Spaniel "Ch Wongan Southn Silk" arrived returning his involvement with the Gundog group. Silks breeder also bred American Cocker Spaniels and he regularly handled them at shows. In 1984 he obtained his first exhibition Greyhound and soon followed by importing the first of two from Dagmar Kenis' Solstrand Kennels in England. In the early 90's American Cockers were added to his breeds. In all he has ownedbredexhibited 23 Australian champions and has had specialty challenge and Royal show challenge winners in all 4 breeds. These include numerous All Breeds Best In Show winners as well as Specialty Best in Show winners and includes Runner Best In show at the 2002 Afghan National Specialty from the junior class. He is not a prolific breeder but does enjoy handling and judging. As well as his own Afghan and English Springer Spaniel he currently handles 2 varieties of Miniature Dachshunds (Long Haired & Wire Haired). Wayne was granted his championship judges license in 1990, and is licensed to judge all Toys, Terriers, Gundogs, Hounds, Utility and Non-Sporting breeds. He has judged the Afghan Specialty in Richmond, Virginia, US; South Island Whippet Club Specialty in New Zealand; Irish Wolfhounds & Saluki's at a Sighthound Specialty in Landstahl, Germany; North Island Irish Wolfhound Club, New Zealand; Whippets & Greyhounds at the Whippet & Greyhound Club of South Australia (Championship Show); Afghans, Bassets, Dachshunds (all varieties), PBGV, AVNSC, Killarney Kennel Club, Killarney, Ireland; American Cocker Spaniel Club Of New South Wales, Australia (Championship Show); English Springer Spaniel Club of Victoria (Championship Show); 4 Hound Club Championship Shows - Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory, Perth (2005); Hound Group and Specials in all Australian states; Hound Group and Specials in Victoria on numerous occasions since 1991; Greyhounds in Scotland (May 2005); Greyhounds, Whippets & Dachshund (Wire) in Sweden (May 2005). Judged in May 2006 Afghan Hounds and English Springer Spaniels in the U.K. at Southern Counties Championships Show in Surrey UK. Also he has judged the Hound group at 2006 Canberra Royal. In 2007 He judged at 2 Sighthound shows in Germany. In 2008 and 2010 judged in Jakarta, Indonesia. In February 2009 he judged the Show of Shows in Copenhagen, Denmark and in October 2009 judged a number of breeds and three Groups in New Mexico, USA.
