, Mrs Kay New South Wales,

AUSTRALIA

  • KENNEL:

    Jebelmarra
  • ANKC:

    All Breeds

Kay and her husband purchased their first Basenji in 1973 having become interested in the breed after seeing the movie "Goodbye My Lady" which was the story of a Basenji. They had the good fortune to purchase an outstanding bitch puppy and were persuaded to join the "dog showing fraternity" which they did with much enthusiasm. Over the ensuing years, there have been numerous champions bred under their prefix "Jebelmarra" and she has enjoyed considerable success in the show ring at the top levels of competition. In 1980 she obtained her judging licence for the Hound Group and over the years gradually added Terriers, then Utility, Working Dogs, Non Sporting, Gundogs and Toys to become an all-breeds judge. She has officiated at many shows in all States of Australia, plus New Zealand, the Philippines, Japan, South Africa, USA, Sweden, Taiwan. Canada, China and England, including Crufts for The Kennel Club.
