Although showing Elkhounds since 1978, it is only in the last 3 years that Gabor started to judge and is licensed to judge the Hound Group. This has given Gabor an entirely new perception of the whole show world, - you see things quite differently from the centre of the ring. He has judged in South Australia, Victoria and NSW and has drawn some impressive entries, which enabled him to give awards to some great dogs. Gabor judged the Sacramento Norwegian Elkhound Club Specialty in October, 2008 as well as some Hound breeds in two All Breed Shows in the USA. The Elkhounds have been consistently top performing dogs for Gabor. Grand Champion Graabine Padaarsen holds the record for the top winning Australian Elkhound having won 10 Best In Show and 40 Best in Group awards.
