SKAAR, Mr Torbjörn Tyreso,
Torbjörn acquired his first dog, a Great Dane, in 1968, and has bred and made up champions including American imports. Since 1980 his main breeds have been Lhasa Apsos and Tibetan Terriers and in 1988 Whippets were added all under the kennel name "Tintavon". He has been a very active and successful breeder and handler and now concentrates mainly on judging and is licensed to judge over 60 breeds including all the Tibetan breeds, Newfoundlands, Papillons, Salukis, Shih Tzu, Great Danes, SchnauzerPincher breeds and Sight Hounds, Pugs, Poodles, Bichon Frise, Bearded Collies, Salukis, Afghan Hounds to name but a few. In 1993 he was awarded the Swedish Kennel Club's "Hamilton Plaque" for outstanding breeding of Lhasa Apsos, the first kennel in the breed to receive this award. Torbjörn has judged in Norway, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Slovenia, Brazil, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and of course Sweden. He started the Swedish Club for Tibetan Breeds of which he was Chairman. He has also been Chairman of the Tibetan Terrier Club, Lhasa Apso Club and the Swedish Great Dane Club and member of the central committee. He has also been a committee member for the Swedish judges club. He has held many handling classes for all breeds and breed clubs. He especially enjoys judging Junior Handling and has judged the grand finals at Stockholm International in Sweden in 1994, Oslo Int. in Norway in l997 and Wellington in New Zealand in 1997. Torbjörn is fluent in Swedish, Norwegian, and English.
