Heather's first involvement in dogs was with a Samoyed. Later she became interested in Shetland Sheepdogs which she went on to breed and show for nearly twenty years. Whippets joined their kennel in the late seventies and they bred and shown the breed ever since. Several champions were made up in both breeds. Heather progressed to judging during that time and gained her first championship panel in the mid eighties. Currently she is qualified to judge five groups, namely Toys, Hounds, Working Dogs, Utility and Non Sporting. Shetland Sheepdogs and Whippets are her specialities, and she has had the privilege of judging Championship shows in New Zealand, South Australia and Western Australia.
