TYSSEN, Mrs Dianne J Invercargill,
Dianne and her husband purchased their first pedigree dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, in 1972. They soon became involved in showing and added Griffon Bruxellois, Weimaraner's and a German Shepherd to their kennels. They registered their 'Prestonville' prefix in 1974 and have bred or owned 80 Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Champions, 2 King Charles Spaniel Champions, 14 Griffon Brucellois Champions, 9 Weimaraner Champions and 1 Border Terrier Champion. They have homebred Cavalier Champions in NZ, Australia, USA, Japan and Finland. For her a natural progression from exhibiting breeds in different groups was to judging them. She attained her judging licence in 1980 for Ribbon Parades, progressed thru the Groups and was granted her All Breeds Championship Licence in January 1998. Since 1976 Dianne has served in various offices in local All Breeds, Group and Breed Clubs. She is a Life Member of the Southland Working Dog Club and President of the OtagoSouthland Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club. She is currently in her seventh year as NZKC Delegate for OtagoSouthland representing Specialist Group & Breed Clubs. Retiring after a third term as President of Southland Kennel Assn. She is currently in her second year as Senior Vice President, and is serving her fourth year as Chairperson of New Zealand Show Judges Association.
