TYSSEN, Mrs Dianne J Southland,
Dianne and her husband purchased their first pedigree dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, in 1973. They soon became involved in showing and added Griffon Bruxellois, Weimaraner's and a German Shepherd to their kennels. They registered their 'Prestonville' prefix in 1974 registered our 'Prestonville' prefix in 1974 and apart from the 105 Cavalier Champions, have bred or owned 18 Griffon Bruxellois Champions, 9 Weimaraner Champions and 2 King Charles Spaniel Champions and 2 Border Terriers. With homebred Cavalier Champions in NZ, Australia, USA, Japan, Finland and South Africa. For her a natural progression from exhibiting breeds in different groups was to judging them. She attained her judging licence in 1980, and my Championship Show licence for Toys in 1983 and was granted her All Breeds Championship Licence in January 1998. Judging has taken Dianne throughout NZ, 7 Australian States, Hong Kong, Manila, USA, Canada, Sweden, Finland, China and England.
Since 1976 Dianne has served in various offices of Committee, Secretary & President in local All Breeds, Group and Breed Clubs & currently President – Southland Kennel Assn. Honoured to be Life Member of the Southland Working Dog Club, Otago/Southland Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club & Southland Kennel Assn. She served for many years as Chairperson & Secretary of the Southland Branch NZKC Judges Assn. She is currently in her 21st year as Dogs NZ Delegate for Otago/Southland representing Specialist Group & Breed Clubs. and served five years as Chairperson of New Zealand Show Judges Association. Serving three years as a practical Examiner for New Zealand Kennel Club Judges and in her 21st year as NZKC Delegate for Otago/Southland representing Specialist Group & Breed Clubs.
