Retired after an administrative career with the Victoria, British Columbia public library system, Barbara has been involved with conformation shows for much of her life, and has bred and exhibited Wire Fox Terriers under the "Plawsworth" prefix since 1961. She has judged overseas in Australia and South Africa. Life member of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Wire Fox Terrier Club of Canada (B.C. Director). National Secretary of the Canadian Dog Judges Association.
