Carol was introduced to Weimaraners in 1972 when she purchased her first male. A bitch sired by her dog was purchased in 1974 and she became the foundation bitch for Grauhund Kennels. In 1978 Carol was asked to mind an Irish Setter bitch for a couple of months - she ended up staying for 14 years and so Irish Setters became a part of this kennel too. To date they have bred - Weimaraners - 47 Australian Champions, 3 Australian Grand Champions all from the same litter, 4 New Zealand Champions and 4 Irish Setter Champions & 1 Multi Ch. in Portugal. They have imported 2 males from the US who have been a big influence on the breed in this country, Along with her husband, two daughters and son-in-law, Carol has owned and bred Weimaraners and Irish setters who have won Best in Shows at All breeds and Specialty Breed level in 4 states of Australia, New Zealand. Carol is actively involved with showing, having campaigned to their show titles a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Irish Setters, Hungarian Vizslas and English Springer Spaniels for their respective owners and often helps her daughters with their Dalmatians and Cavaliers. Carol's Gundog (Sporting) dog licence was gained in 1995 and she has judged Gundogs (Sporting dogs) at All breeds level & Gundog Specialty Shows in many states in Australia and New Zealand & Weimaraner Specialty Shows in two states. In 2003 she had the honour of being invited to judge the Top 20 competition at the Weimaraner Club of America Nationals in Rhode Island an experience she will never forget. She has judged the Sporting Group in Ohio, Hungarian Vizsla Specialty in Ohio and a Weimaraner Specialty Show at the Northern Weimaraner Society in England.
