Mel Bungey BA MA is an International All Breeds Judge licensed to judge all Groups, Group Specials and Best in Show by the Australian National Kennel Council. He has judged in Australia in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania, Queensland and Western Australia, and overseas in Canada, South Africa, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Singapore, Thailand, Ireland and New Zealand. In addition, he has judged Chihuahua Specialty Shows in Thailand, Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia. Mel is a Past President of the Canine Association of Western Australia Inc., a former member of the Australian National Kennel Council and a Life Member of The WA Chihuahua Club Inc. Mel and his wife, Leith, have been breeding and exhibiting Chihuahuas for 39 years. Semi-retired, Mel has been involved in farming, business and academe, and was a Member of the Australian House of Representatives for nine years.
