DUFFIN, Mrs Doreen Victoria,
Doreen, and her husband, Ron, obtained their first Basenji in 1969 and have been very involved in the dog world since then. They have bred many Champions including the first Basenji to win a big award at the Royal Melbourne Show when Ch Makuba Am Mbindi went Best Opposite Sex out of over 1000 Hounds. They have also had a Hound Group 4 - at the 2002 Royal Melbourne Show. They owned the first Basenji to win an All Breeds Best in Show in Victoria, and later a bitch of theirs also won an All Breeds Best in Show. Doreen has been honoured with Life Membership of the Hound Club of Victoria and also the Basenji Club of Victoria. Doreen obtained her first judging licence in 1980 - the Hound Group, and since then has added the six other Groups to attain her All Breeds Licence. She has judged Hound Shows in every State and Territory in Australia and also in New Zealand. She has also judged in the UK (including a Basenji Specialty), Finland (including two Basenji Specialties), South Africa, New Zealand and the USA (three Basenji Specialties including the 2003 Basenji Club of America National).
