Show Dog Judges Profiles

, Mrs Juliet

    Loch Buie, Whirlwind

Juliet was born in the UK but has travelled considerably, as her father was in the army. They obtained their first of many ex-racing Greyhounds when she was three and their first Whippet arrived when she was about seven years old. With her husband, she emigrated to South Africa in 1971, accompanied by two Shalfleet Whippets, and starting showing in 1972. At the time, she also registered my affix Loch Buie. In 1980 she went into partnership under the affix Whirlwind and since then they have imported a number of Whippets and Greyhounds from the UK, America and Australia. Over the years, numerous South African and overseas champions have borne either the Loch Buie or Whirlwind affix. At present, she is on the panel to judge all Hounds, Gundogs and Toys and is judging Working at Open Show level. Besides judging all over South Africa, she has judged in Nambia and Australia. Some of her activities in the dog world in South Africa have included being Secretary of the Cape Hound Club, after which she served on an All Breeds Club, the Cape Town Kennel Club, where she stayed for about 14 years in various positions. At present she is Vice-President of the Whippet Club and the Cape Hound Club.
