LUMMEVAARA, Ms Anu K New South Wales,
Anu moved to Australia in 1987 from her home country Finland where she started showing dogs at 12 years of age. Her first own dogs were Sheltie and Löwchen, both with successful careers, and she was also helping out with grooming and handling for some major kennels in various breeds. She started with her current breed Italian Greyhounds in 1989 and Berizza prefix was established in 1990. Her first litter (born 1994) had 2 Specialty BIS winners and those two became a foundation for what they are today. Some 50 homebred Champions and 4 Grand champions later they have also shared breeding stock to assist others and today many top IGs have Berizza behind. Berriza are proud record holders of 7 Breed Specialty BIS win (and 1 RUBIS) with 6 individual dogs. Over the past 20 years they have won numerous BISRUBIS awards at All Breeds shows, Toy and Sighthound Specialties. While Anu is passionate about breeding and exhibiting high quality IG's, she applies the same passion for judging other breeds. She has been fortunate to own and exhibit different breeds over the years which has given her invaluable "hands on" knowledge and appreciation for individual requirements. Anu acquired Group 1 (Toys) license in 2004 and her Hound Group license in 2008, and has judged in most States of Australia at Specialty and All Breeds level, as well as on both Islands of New Zealand, Singapore and USA. Specialty shows judged: Newcastle Terrier & Toy Club; SA Toy & Sporting Terrier Club; Flat Face Toy Dog Club NSW; Tasmanian Toy Dog Club; The Singapore Toy Dog Club; Otago Toy Dog Club (NZ); Auckland Toy Dog Cub (NZ); Miniature Pinscher Club of NSW; The Yorkshire Terrier Club of NSW.
