A pharmacist by profession . Now semi retired. Robert developed an interest in pedigree dogs in 1964 with a Golden Retriever and an Irish Setter, which were extensively exhibited throughout Australia with much success at local and Royal Show level, under the well-known OAKLODGE prefix. Many Champions and notable dogs were bred and exhibited in both breeds. Robert and his wife, Delma, have several older Goldens who enjoy their retirement with them and are much loved and very much part of the family. Robert has judged extensively in all states of Australia and in NZ, South East Asia and in the United Kingdom. He has been involved with judges education and examination and has a passionate interest in helping new exhibitors and judges obtain a more complete understanding of their breeds. A breed manual on Golden Retrievers that he wrote has proved a benefit to judges and fanciers of the breed alike. Robert obtained his Gundog judging license in 1971 and have been an All Breeds judge for some twenty five years.
