Jose is a medical doctor by profession and has had Doberman's, Boxers, German Shepherds, Miniature Pinschers from the United States, United Kingdom and Germany. He has also produced champions and Best-In-Show winners. Currently, he is more involved with Miniature Pinschers and Belgian Malinois, because of their superior intelligence and willingness to please. He started in the Philippine Kennel Club in its formative years, (now the Philippine Canine Club Incorporated, PCCI). He became its president and served for three terms. He ended his tenure when he returned to the United States to continue his medical training at the Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. He pursued his canine interest outside the Philippines in 1996, judging multiple times in Australia, India, Southeast Asia, China, India and several FCI International Dog Shows in Tokyo and all over Japan. To keep himself abreast of new developments in the canine world, he frequently watches specialty dog shows including the Westminster shows in New York City. Jose believes dog shows fosters camaraderie among people, regardless of color of creed, and present opportunities to improve the breed. After all, a country who is concerned about its animals is a sign of a progressive nation. Other interests include trap shooting, music with a good sound system, and watches.
