Colleen Mitchell was born and raised in New Zealand but commenced her judging career in 1968 in Australia. She obtained her full International All Breeds Judging license in 1983. Now retired, Colleen was a Director of the (RNSWCC) Royal New South Wales Canine Council for 12 years; a NSW Gold Medal winner in Obedience Trials; a memberofficer of numerous breed clubs; Patron of several Breed, Group & All Breed Clubs; previous Show Secretary NSWCC Spring Fair Show; on the Judges Training Scheme Examination Committee; a Foundation memberFirst Publicity Officer of The Dog Judges Association; past Chairman, Sporting Committee - (Inground Hunding, Lure Coursing, Sheepdog Trialling, Flyball, Earthdogs etc). She also held office as Chairman of the RNSWCC Journal Committee & Public Relations Committee. Colleen breeds and exhibits Papillons with much success. A well recognised author of many dog breed books, Colleen writes about what it takes to be a winner and how you go about finding these dogs. These books are also about how to make the best of the qualities your dog possesses, also giving instruction about how to make less of the imperfections. Well worthy of reading!
