Owner, breeder and exhibitor of Sighthounds since 1959 under the Bohem prefix, primarily Whippets but earlier also Greyhounds and Afghan Hounds. Initially active in Sweden, from 1980 in the U.S. In spite of a very limited breeding program, there have been numerous Bohem Best-in-Show winners and over 100 champions in the U.S., Europe, Australia and Asia. Awarded the Swedish KC Hamilton plaque for excellence in breeding 1982. In the 1960s trained at the Bletchingley and Laguna Kennels in England (Afghan Hounds and Whippets), Oranje Manege in Holland (Afghan Hounds, Salukis) and at the Srinagar Kennels in the United States (Salukis, Afghan Hounds, etc.). Approved to judge Sighthounds by the F.C.I. in 1976. Currently approved to judge 32 breeds in 5 groups, as well as All-Breed Best-in-Show. Has judged major shows in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, England, Scotland, France, Germany, Austria, Holland, Italy, the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, China and Japan. Past assignments include repeat judging at Crufts (most recently 2007), Westminster (most recently 2009), FCI World Shows (1980, 1989, 1997 and 2008), BIS at the Swedish Sighthound Club at Skokloster, the 1st Sighthound Association championship show in Australia, the American Whippet Club national specialty 2006, the Greyhound Club of America national specialty 2007, etc. Author of several dog books, including Dogs of the World (over 500,000 copies sold world-wide), the award-winning The Whippet (UK, 1985; USA, 1994 & 2010), Dogs and Dog Shows Around the World (Sweden, 1994), and Best in Show - the World of Show Dogs and Dog Shows (USA, 2008). Received the Dog Writers' Association of America's first Elsworth L. Howell Award, 1994 and most recently the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award 2009.
